Ali started out as a competitive swimmer, but once she discovered water polo in high school, she was hooked—and never looked back. She went on to play four years of water polo at Occidental College in Los Angeles, where she earned All-American and All-SCIAC honors and helped lead the team to its first National Championship. Ali also served as team captain her senior year and was recognized as an All-Academic athlete.
Ali has coached Splashball, 10U, and 12U club teams, as well as junior varsity at Bellevue High School. As a parent of three competitive water polo players herself, she understands the importance of balancing skill development, confidence, and fun in youth sports. Ali’s coaching philosophy centers on building a love for the game, fostering a positive mindset, and developing mental strength—both in and out of the pool
Tyler started his water polo career at Newport Hills Swim and Tennis club when he was 7 years old. At 11, his love for the sport led him to play year-round, and attending the Junior Olympics every year. A recent grad from Loyola Marymount University with a B.A. in Philosophy is back in the PNW where he can pass along his love of Water polo in the community where is all started for him. Getting to know the athletes and parents is important to him as strong community helps build a program.

Water polo has been extremely special to me as it has always been the foundation for everything I have accomplished in my life. I learned how to push through adversity with the support of my coaches and teammates, guiding me through difficult experiences. I have a B.S. in Kinesiology, a M.Ed. Athletic coaching, Life coaching certification, 3 kids, an amazing supportive husband, a team of family members and mentors who have always believed in me. My passion for water polo brings me great joy. My hope is to pass my love of water polo onto others. As I say to all my kids as they leave for school "spread kindness, love, and joy!" The energy you put out into the universe is the energy that will come back to you.
